What platforms does TypeBuddy support?

Currently, TypeBuddy is available for macOS 13 and higher.

Is TypeBuddy free to use?

TypeBuddy's basic features are free with no usage limit. This includes autocomplete, translation, grammar checking, and rewriting functionality. These features can work offline using local AI models or use cloud models for enhanced capabilities.

How does the real-time translation work?

TypeBuddy translates your text as you write, without interrupting your flow. It supports multiple languages and provides context-aware translations that maintain the meaning and tone of your original text.

How accurate are the AI features?

The accuracy of TypeBuddy's AI features varies based on the model you select:

• Nano (0.6B) - Fast and lightweight, good for basic tasks
• Lite (1.7B) - Balanced performance and accuracy
• Pro (4B) - High accuracy for professional use
• Apple Intelligence (3B) - System-integrated option (macOS 26+)

Larger models generally provide more accurate results but require more system resources. You can download and switch between models based on your needs.

Can I customize the rewrite rules?

Custom rewrite rules are coming soon! Currently, TypeBuddy includes several built-in rewrite styles. The ability to create and customize your own rewrite rules will be available in a future update.

What AI models are available?

TypeBuddy supports several local AI models that you can download and use. For the most up-to-date list of available models and their specifications, please check the Model tab in the TypeBuddy app.
