Inline Assist

TypeBuddy's inline assist feature provides intelligent AI assistance directly within your text fields, helping you generate, edit, and improve content without leaving your current application.

How to Get Started

  1. Place your cursor in a text field
  2. Press ⇧ + ⌘ + / to activate inline assist
  3. Type your request or prompt in the assist interface
  4. Press ↵ to generate AI response
  5. Press ⌘ + ↵ to apply the response or Esc to cancel

How to Use

Generate New Content:

  • Activate inline assist and describe what you want to write
  • Example: "Write a professional email declining a meeting"
  • The AI will generate relevant content based on your request

Edit Existing Text:

  • Select text you want to modify
  • Activate inline assist and describe the changes
  • Example: "Make this more formal" or "Fix grammar and spelling"
  • Choose to insert or replace the original text

Get Writing Assistance:

  • Ask for help with specific writing tasks
  • Example: "Summarize this paragraph" or "Translate to Spanish"
  • Apply the AI's suggestions with a single keystroke
